In exactly a week, I will be leaving to Belize to attend one of the CELA’s summer study abroad course, Large Animals in the Tropics. As I am studying and taking my finals, it feels surreal that I will be out-of-country next week. Nonetheless, I am excited to see what I will be doing there! I’ve heard many great stories from people who previously went to the program, and everyone seemed to really enjoy it! During my two weeks there, I would be closely working with different farm species including sheep, goat, pigs, cows, and horses. I am only worried that compared to my peers I would not be familiar with many animals. However, I am looking forward in gaining hands-on veterinary examination techniques by learning from various people and working in different environments. I hope to make lifetime memories and friendships at Belize!
