So after a stressful week of getting through finals and figuring out what I need to pack for my trip, I am currently still packing but almost done! I’ve looked at the weather for the week and it will be rainy but same temperatures like in New Jersey. I am excited to begin my journey traveling to my first destination Vienna, Austria where I will meet up with students from the University of Osnabrück to begin a week-long trip around Eastern Europe. My flight is non-direct so I will be landing in Zürich, Switzerland and then changing flights to Austria. I’ve traveled to Europe many times before so I have some experience with the flight travels. This is my fist time flying alone over the Atlantic Ocean but I should be alright with traveling. I have done my research on all the necessities that I will need for my trip. My only concern is that I hope I will not have any trouble finding the students who will pick me up but luckily I have their numbers to call them.
Pre-Departure: I have known about this trip to Germany for over a year and now it is finally happening!!! I am excited to pursue this journey to meet new professors who can help me learn more about landscape architecture. It will be awesome seeing the major from a another perspective and German cultural influence. My only worries are how the German classroom setting will be because I am so used to American classrooms. Overall I am excited to take this study abroad trip through Rutgers University and show the German students my design skills that I learned from my first year as a Rutgers student!
