In the morning, Cynthia (program director of CELA) showed the group around San Ignacio, Cayo, Belize. There is eleven of us including the TA, which makes it easier to move around as a group. Here is a picture of us posing at one of the vibrant wall paintings we found in the city!
In the afternoon, we were able to visit Xunantunich, an Ancient Maya archaeological site in western Belize. It was interesting to learn about the history and the people of Belize before we started off our time here. It was quite a hike, but we managed to make it up to the very top. This was a great time when the selfie stick came into handy. I am very grateful for the two people at the end of the pictures who toured and showed us around.
