Along with Dr. Tesecum and his team, my group and I visited Whistling Duck Farm, a rescue facility for mainly horses. There, we learned how to handle horses and conduct physical examination on them. By pairing up with another student, we assessed the horse’s vitals and body condition. We also administered vaccinations, including Rabies and Tetanus shots. Some students even had the opportunity to help Dr. Tesecum and his team with castrations for three stallions! As a student who does not have much experience with horses, I was able to learn many skills from today’s practical.
