This morning we assisted Dr. Tesecum and his team with vaccinating and deworming a group of cows. At first we were nervous, but it wasn’t as bad as we thought! Later in the day, we visited the facility of BAHA, Belize Agricultural Health Authority. It is the only animal diagnostic laboratory in the country! There we learned how to blood smear and fecal float, which are important processes in order to properly assess the health of the animals. It was nice to have a break from the hot weather and spend a few hours in the cool rooms!
