I arrived in Bangkok on Wednesday night Thailand time. Though the program starts on Saturday, a few of us came early to have a few extra days to explore. After about 23 hours of travel, we were all exhausted and went right to sleep. On our first day, we spent much of our time trying to navigate through the city. Using the subway was surprisingly easy and very clean. After exploring, we took a boat around the river where we encountered some vendors right on the water. We then went to dinner at a restaurant serving delicious Thai food owned by a Canadian man. He gave us great tips on places to go at night. We went to the night markets and then to see a Thai boxing match. Today was spent going on a safari. We ended up getting to ride elephants in the pouring rain, and it was an awesome experience. After taking time to dry off and change, we are on our way back out to see what else Bangkok has to offer!
