Hi, my name is Morgan Mahony and I am a Food Science major at Rutgers University in New Jersey. Tomorrow I will be travelling out of the country for the first time ever. I will be taking this journey alone and cannot wait to meet all the wonderful people I will soon call friends. On this adventure I will be studying in France for two months in Toulouse at Purpan. The first month will consist of agriculture and economics classes, french classes, and viticulture classes. The second month I will working on a vineyard as an intern and will be putting what I learned in the earlier month to test. Throughout this trip I will be visiting vineyards, tasting wine and cheese, learning about food, drink, and culture, and really be emerged in the French culture. The first weekend there we will be going to the Pyrenees for a hike. Next, we will be heading to Barcelona for tapas. The third weekend is a free weekend. I am thinking of choosing to go to Paris or Switzerland(to go skydiving in the alps). After that I will be moving to the farm/home-stay where I will be living with a french family for a month. I am extremely excited for this part because it will really give me a hands on experience in french life and in the wine industry. After France, my two best friends will be meeting me in Italy for a 11 day vacation. This whole trip is an opportunity of a lifetime and I absolutely can’t wait to begin my journey.
