I Landed in CHINA
Ok so to tell you the truth it is hard to enter a country to which it does not speak your language or rather you don’t speak its language !
The taxi I took to Shanghai Jiao Tong Univeristy (SJTU) was pleasant but I had no clue where I was going or if he clearly understood the address I told him. I was just hoping to arrive at the right place.
I was lost, maybe it is normal, maybe this is how it’s supposed to be…I waited impatiently for my assigned buddy that will be helping me during my stay here not knowing how to explain where I was.
It is somewhat annoying and very hard to communicate, especially that I am not very good at charades !
This is gonna be a very good experience.
Today was all about figuring out what I am suppose to do in term of where to pick up my student card and if I will have my scholarship and when and how because I need the money well not now but eventually. Every time I go somewhere they tell me that I am in the wrong place and I need to change buildings or go across the campus to do that thing and it was raining and it was a mess.
So even though I don’t feel home here, I like the new experiences to which I am exposed.
One thing I can’t forget is that the sky is super grey all the time. IT IS DEPRESSING !!!!
At least I have a bike on which I can move and go from lab to the dorm and from the dorm to the canteen and to other places. The campus is not that big but still I wouldn’t want to walk this campus every day.
I am Excited about this new experiences and ready to know new people.
