I have been in Little Cayman for four days now and my first impression of the island is unbelievable. The local population is 150 people; there are 5 children in their school and everyone knows everyone. I’ve heard of small towns, but never small countries like that. We ride bikes everywhere we go, and there is a health center, two liquor stores and a general food store, that’s it. Anyway, the island is simply breathtaking, beyond my wildest dreams. The researchers and the people I am interning with are really cool and very adventurous. We have gone on 5 dives in the past 3 days, each dive being more amazing than the next. We also sat in on talks about plastics in the ocean, sea urchins, sea turtles, green iguanas, sponges and corals. I have been learning and experiencing the most beautiful people and places I could ever imagine. I thanks SEBS every day that I’m here for helping me get to this place.
