During the week in Little Cayman we have a jam packed schedule and we don’t get much of free time, but it’s okay because we’re mostly diving and snorkeling. I actually took a coral identification test yesterday where we had to SCUBA dive down and name 19 coral species and determine their bleach index; I got a perfect score ๐ It was definitely the coolest test I have ever taken. Then at night most of the researchers and interns all went out and it was one of the coolest experiences I’ve ever had. Today, we actually had the whole morning off and to ourselves until 1PM. Around 11 AM we had a huge brunch together with amazing breakfast foods and sandwiches. Then at 1 PM we split up into two teams (boys vs girls) and did a scavenger hunt where we had to find clues and travel the whole island with our project coordinator. We got to learn really cool facts about the island, and really cool facts about each other. For one of the clues we had to go to a remote beach; both teams met up and just relaxed in the water for an hour. It was the most beautifully clear water I have ever seen in my life. Then at the end the girls team won the scavenger hunt altogether! Now we have the rest of the day off as well, and we all have separate projects to work on while we’re down here so we are all basically writing our proposals that are due on Tuesday. That’s it for now ๐
