I have been back in civilization for 5 days now and I can honestly say that I wish I was still in Little Cayman. We filled out a survey after the trip and one of the questions asked, “Rank the length of the trip from too short to too long.” I ranked it too short because we crammed a lot of science in for two and a half weeks; I can only imagine how much we could have learned and experienced in a month. I have been saying this for the entirety of my posts, but Little Cayman was the best decision I have ever made and I would give anything to go back. I made close ties with one of the staff members there, and I sent her my resume for proofing. Since this trip I have made arrangements to further advance my diving certification and become more serious about my SCUBA career. Because of this trip I have become more confident in my career choice and have been striving in more specific directions.
In about seven hours of being home and sleeping in my own bed, I had to wake up at 6AM the following morning to go to Long Beach Island and conduct my field work for my George H. Cook Honors thesis. I did this for two days. Thus now I can finally relax from my travels and reflect on my time in Little Cayman. π
