We’ve finally arrived in our hotel room, the first stop of many to come. That was the loooongest amount of travelling I have ever had to do to get somewhere, but I can’t say I minded it all that much. Our plane to Hong Kong, the 17-hour flight, was sparsely filled. Myself, and as it had turned out, the majority of our group, were lucky enough to have full rows of vacant seats. This meant we could stretch out completely, and I even had extra blankets and pillows, which definitely made the voyage much more comfortable. I was not seated close to anyone in my group, and have not talked with them much so far. Some of us got drinks in the Newark Airport before we departed, and so I tried to learn their names and where they are from. Our TA met us right before we boarded the plane, and she made sure we were all together while maneuvering the Hong Kong airport and until we met with our professor in Jakarta. Everyone in my group seems really nice and I’m excited to get to know everyone better. Making new friends at Rutgers is something that I have been looking forward to as a result of this trip 🙂
My view from on top of the world!
