Start of week evaluation:This week we saw the Roquefort cheese caves and visited a sheep farm. The cheese caves were very interesting. I gained an appreciation for the type of cheese. I really enjoyed learning about the different strains and their effect on the final product. We also found out America only imports 1 type of their cheese. On the sheep farm we had lunch and learned about the sheep operation. We tasted 1 day old cheese and other ones too. This place made me feel comfortable about the internship because the farmer was so happy to meet us and have us at his place.
End of week evaluation:Week 2 is finished and its starting to go by so fast. This weekend we went to Barcelona. My only complaint is that I wish I had more time. Barcelona was fun and festive. There were also so many Americans. We saw the Sagrada Familia which was a mind-blowing place to be. We also went to Park Guelle at sunset to take pictures and enjoy the view. During the day we saw the Picasso museum. We had sangria and paella which were delicious. The night life in Barcelona was crazy fun and there were so many people from all over. I met a very nice group of English lads here that I kept in contact with. I can’t believe the school portion of this journey is half way over. I never want it to end.
