Week 3 start:So far this week has been exciting. We started learning viticulture, so no more 6 hour lectures about eggs. We visited a few vineyards and tasted a lot of great wine. Early in the week we had a wine-tasting class on how to taste wine and what to look for and how to appreciate wine. At the end of the week we found out where our internship were going to be. Mine is right outside Toulouse in Montabaun at Domaine du Biarnes. It was the same internship my friend had last year which was comforting. This helped calm my nerves about leaving my friends, the city, and starting something new. Homesickness is beginning to set in now that I’m leaving the people I am close to. However, I am excited for what’s to come.
End of week 3:This weekend was our free weekend. My friends and I decided to go to Marseille, France. Although the weather didn’t favor the beach plans we originally, it was still an amazing time. We visited the church that gave the most amazing view. WE also ride the Ferris wheel at the port and enjoyed the Hungarians and Icelanders that came for their eurocup game. We basically got attacked with facepaint by Hungarian men. Being in France during Eurocup is the most incredible experience. I am meeting so many people from all around Europe and their energy toward the game is truly incredible to experience first hand. All you see are seas of colored jerseys and hear chants being screamed through the streets. Everyone is so spirited and ready to cheer and yell and root for their team.
