Hello! My name is Monica Lee and I am studying Landscape Architecture here at Rutgers University. I am currently an uprising senior. A week from today, on May 28th, I am leaving the United States to participate in a 6 week study abroad program in Germany! I have always wanted to explore this country and luckily during this program we visit some of Germany’s neatest cities including Berlin, Hamburg, and Essen. I am studying Landscape Architecture while in Germany and am undergoing a studio course while there. I have never left the United States before, so for leaving America for 6 weeks is quite overwhelming. I always dreamed and wondered what the world looked like beyond the U.S. so for me undergoing this study abroad program is a dream come true. I am beyond excited to see outside cultures and encompass myself with new surroundings. I am mostly excited to see the city or Berlin as well as the historic castles in Essen. I know I am going to love every minute I am there, however right now I am quite nervous and overwhelmed. I never left my family and friends for this long which makes me a little uncomfortable. This study abroad program will be a learning process, not only by the studio, but learning about myself at whole.
