First week of study abroad is coming to an end, and with it, my legs and feet.
We’ve walked around 12 miles everyday (according to my Samsung Health app), and every night I’m ready to pass out from exhaustion. Maybe it would be a good idea to start going to the gym when I get back…
Germany is a fairly easy place to get used to. Most of the people here speak English, especially so if they’re younger, and the streetscapes of Berlin are similar enough to those of New York that I don’t always feel like I’m in a new place. The hardest part of the trip so far (beyond walking everywhere until my feet fall off and knees need replacement) has been figuring out the public transportation system.
A warning for anyone who intends to visit Germany in the future: The subway lines are not a loop. When they get to the end of the line, there’s a break that can be anywhere from 5 minutes to an hour long, and then the subway continues on again- in reverse. Simply put, instead of a loop, it’s a “V”. And yes, we did mess up and end up waiting for the subway to start up again. We were lucky- it only took a few minutes.
Of course, we haven’t let our tired feet get in the way of having fun and taking silly pictures! Looking good, even when we feel like we’re walking dead c:
Here’s some more pictures from this week:
