As the date gets closer and closer, the butterflies are growing in my stomach in anticipation. I waited until Friday to pack, and my flight leaves Monday, the 28th. A little last minute? Probably, but I like the process of organizing my suitcase, so I don’t mind the procrastination nor have any stress while I get into it.
According to some of the research done beforehand, and information given out by the faculty going on the trip, Germany is in tune with our seasons, so it would be summer there as well. This is perfect, because I’m only bringing a carry-on suitcase for the month long study abroad; the light, airy clothes would be easy to compact into the convenient packing cubes I got from Amazon. Here’s the link for the ones I have: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075GN2Q5N/ref=twister_B075GJ9Y2R?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 (the quality is also very good for these ones)
I haven’t gotten to looking up any of the hotspots that are in Berlin, Essen, and Hamburg, but I’m sure I’ll find them along the way. I’m also reassured by the fact that our professors would be leading the trip which means that we probably (hopefully) won’t get lost. So far, the only German word I know and feel comfortable saying without messing up is “Danke” =thank you.
I can’t wait for the trip to start! I’m ready to go on another adventure and to explore Germany further! So far, I’ve only been to Munich for three days, and a stop at Neuschwanstein Castle in Bavaria. It was during that trip I had my first taste of the pastry, mandelhörnchen. Definitely going to be searching for that again.
Good luck to everyone traveling, and hope your summer is exciting and adventurous! Tschüs!
