I was excited for today because we are going to Amsterdam! Yet, I was starting to feel sad because this is our last day in the Netherlands. We took the metro and then went on the train that took us right to Amsterdam Central Station. My first impression of Amsterdam was that it felt like NYC; this was a very touristy location and there was a lot of people trying to get to places. I thought I saw a lot of bikers before but wow there were so many more bikers here! And there were trolleys going by so I really had to make sure I was paying attention to where I was walking. We went to go on a canal tour. We got earbuds that plugged into the side of the boat that had all sorts of languages so that everyone is able to understand the information that was being said throughout the tour. We got to see Amsterdam from a different perspective from the boat. I got to see so many scenic views and I thought it was cool to see some house boats along the canal. Afterwards we got a lot free time to explore and have lunch. The group I was with walked around and went to to various stores and shops further down from the central station because we knew those would be tourist traps since those were the first shops that people would see. We got some delicious lunch and walked around some more. We stopped by at the Anne Frank house, I was speechless just looking at the house and thinking about the history that went on. After all the exploring and shopping and eating, we returned back to the hotel only to wake up early the next day to leave this beautiful country. My next post will be my final post about my final thoughts about my overall experience of this amazing trip.
