In less than 2 weeks, I will be embarking on a journey I never thought I’d be able to take part in. I’ve been trying to mentally prepare myself for this trip ever since I made the final decision to go. Although I am a little anxious, I know that this experience is crucial for my growth as a person. I’ve been trying to research everything that I can about the Thai culture and what to expect when I arrive there, however there is a part of me that wants to experience this whole trip with a completely open mind. I am ready to take this opportunity to not only learn about the culture, the people, and the healthcare system but also learn more about myself. I can’t wait to try authentic Thai food and to shop at the local markets. Although our trip is only two weeks, I think it is the perfect amount of time to gain a new perspective, to come back home refreshed and educated, and to be able to tell my friends and family my story.
