After months of anticipation, tomorrow I finally depart from JFK airport to Paris, France. Although I am only able to spend a few hours in Paris, I hope to have enough time to see the Eiffel Tower in person. Not long after my arrival in Paris, my class will go down to Cluny, a small commune in the eastern part of France. Cluny is a beautiful town with a rich history, and it is where we will be staying for the duration of the course. I expect to learn a lot about cheese and wine production, applied microbiology, and some French culture and history. I also expect to try some amazing and exotic foods and wines. Some things I worry about for this trip are jet-lag, navigating through Charles de Gaulle airport, and the dense coursework. However, I try not to let these things concern me as I am sure this will be a fun and enriching experience nonetheless.
