I am having a great time in Israel! I have been here for a little bit of time and am having a fantastic time becoming more familiar with the culture and place. I love the people the beach and most of all the food! I moved into my dorm room two days ago at the start of my program. It is amazing to meet so many interesting people from all over the world who have come to study in Israel for the summer. I have met people from so many interesting places such as London, Singapore and India as well as many young adults from all over the United States. Moreover, I am even more excited about the work I will be doing after finally meeting Professor Sprinzak yesterday and getting a chance to become familiar with the project I will be working on in his lab. I will be researching notch signaling between cells and using a high powered (and very expensive!) microscope to find and locate specific regions of a cells genome that have been transcribed. Today I had my first real work day in the lab and it was great. I began work on my project and although am still slightly confused on all the material I am excited to see where it leads and all that I will learn!
