After arriving in Paris around 8:30AM, I fortunately had plenty of time to explore the city before leaving to Cluny with the rest of the class. Although I was initially very tired, the beauty of the city instantly gave me the energy to explore.
My first stop after leaving the airport was the Notre Dame cathedral. Getting to see the beautiful and elaborate architecture of this 13th century cathedral was truly amazing. Even though much of it was unfortunately wrecked in the recent fire, I was still able to appreciate the view I got.
After exploring the area surrounding the cathedral and getting a delicious crepe for lunch, my next stop was the Eiffel Tower. Seeing the tower was an experience that cannot be properly captured in pictures. I was able to walk around nearly the whole perimeter of the tower and stand at its base. From any point of view, the tower is an incredible landmark.
After meeting up with the rest of the class and arriving in Cluny, we checked into our hostel rooms. Dr Healy and Dr Haggblom then took us out to a dinner at the Brasserie du Nord. We were treated to a red wine and a white wine. The boef bourguignon and creme brulee were delicious!
