Well, week 1 has come to an end and I can now confidently say, “it’s all been worth it!” So many things I’ve learned in one week alone and I still have 3 more weeks to go. Plant life, animal life, conservation efforts, locals views on nature, how people live and so much more. Belize is beautiful and I am so happy to have decided to study abroad. Within this week, I have had experiences that not many get as an undergrad and I am still in disbelief that I am one of the few. I had the chance to explore inside caves, set up wildlife cameras, hike a lot, explore the Belize zoo, see jaguars up close, observe spider monkeys, hold a boa, practice blow darting on a target, volunteer in a spay/neuter clinic, and so much more. I cannot wait to see what these next weeks bring me and I look forward to sharing it here!
