Hey guys! I think my post never went through because I quickly posted it before my flight and the wifi went out but here is what happened last week during my trip!
6/17/19 – On Monday, we went to CBS to look at the howler monkeys. I was surprised to see them so close in the “wild”. I did not expect them to start howling but they did for around 20 minutes! The organization has came a long way and its refreshing to hear that they continued through all the hardship to still be here today. Shout out to the women that kept it going.
6/18/19 – Going to the raptor center was probably one of my favorite days. We got to see San Ignacio which was beatiful and the raptor center itself is really nice. Sarah Mann, the woman who is running it. is really kind and was super informative about the birds. I have never seen half of these birds so close and they all were trained very well!! I learned a lot about here hardships with the raptors in Belize due to the culture, it opened my eyes that everyone has different beliefs and just informing people will change things.
6/19/19 – Miss netting at Runaway Creek was interesting. We had to wake up super early and I was definitely tired but it was nice to see all the little birds that ended up flying through the net. It is definitely a weird process banding a bird and I didnt understand it until I saw it. We ended up catching the same bird twice!
