5 days to go!
Now that I have been away from home for one month, the longest I have ever been away, I have come to some conclusions about my experience abroad so far.
Things I miss from home:
- Family
- Friends
- Friends who are like family
- Dog
- Bed
- Abundance of Vegan options at restaurants
- Air conditioning
Things I will miss about Germany:
- Bread
- Open Parks and landscapes
- Being with my classmates
- Learning about the history and culture
- Having a knowledgeable tour guide to inform me of the history of where I am wherever I go (Thanks Geza!)
Things I have learned:
- Nature always prevails
- My impact in the world may be small, but it can be powerful
- History of Germany
The next leg of my journey will take place in Israel, where I will be studying topics surrounding community living and agriculture for my thesis.
Things I am looking forward to about Israel:
- Friends who are like family
- A focused study of a topic I am interested in
- Farming, planting, being outside
- Days to rest
Being in Germany has been a once in a lifetime chance to learn about a new culture, expose myself to new adventures, and study landscape architecture in an entirely new way. These past four weeks have flown by so fast and I am going to make these last few days count!
