On Saturday, June 22, we went to visit a coal mine that used to be active back then. One thing for sure that I got from this site visit was learning how the coal was produced and cleaned. We had a guided tour, and we saw how the workers would mine underground, and when they came up to the surface they had been hidden by structures and walls so tourists would not see them because the mine was still active at the time when it first started to become part of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. We also experience how loud the mines was when miners would be working. It amazes me how much an industry can change in just a few years to protect the environment.
