Today is the middle of the first week of my study abroad to Germany. I have already done so many cool things and I am so far really enjoying it. On the first day, we saw a section of the Berlin wall. This was particularly interesting because a part of the wall was standing by a watchtower and when you looked in between the wall it looked just like it would have to somebody during that time. This was particularly powerful to me because it put an image and a feeling in me of what it was like for someone in that time. On the first day, we also went to Gendarmenmarkt where the is some really nice architecture. While we were there we sat down where people were playing music and sketching. Another place I found interesting was today’s excursion to Wald. Berlin. Klima. Here we walked around to the different stations along the trail and learned about eco-preservation. There was an especially cool station the had painted tree trunks to symbolize how many trees it took to break the CO2 of a human being in a year. To me, this was very interesting because I have always taken an interest in the environment and the impact that we, as humans, have on it. After this, we climbed to the top of the Grunewald tower and saw the most amazing view. Other cool and fun things in these first few days were trying my first Radler, which is just a pilsner beer mixed with sprite. At first, I did not know what to expect, but it turned out to be amazing. Also in these first few days, I went to my first Biergarten. All in all, I am enjoying my first few days and looking forward to what is to come next.
