Finally back in the United States and I wanted to post my final two blogs for everyone to see. My last week kind of flew by, just as I expected it to but I did make sure to treasure it the most.
Last week we did get to inject horses and last Tuesday we got to see if we remember how to do it. This time around, I made sure to twist hard enough so that my mule wouldn’t feel the needle as much and then inject. I actually think I’m getting a lot better with these injections with all of this practice I’m getting. After we were done vaccinating the horses for rabies, I got to ride a mule named Hamacho on a trail and this is also a good experience for animal handling. I’ve been riding many times before but never on a trail like the one we did. I had a good mule and I handled it pretty well on the trail. Once we got to the top of a hill on horseback, it was a sight that was so beautiful, we all started taking pictures immediately. We could even see part of the Guatemala border from where we were!
