Well I’ve been home for a few days now and I’ve gotten so adjusted to life in Belize after having lived there an entire month, that New Jersey looks so different to me now. In the end of my last week we did pig castrations again and I actually got to do one this time. I didn’t get the opportunity last week because there weren’t enough being castrated but I was able to do one today. I’ve never done anything like that before and I did an okay job, but I definitely need more practice. Well, hopefully in the future I get to try it out again and get better at it. Later on, we watched a couple of spay and neuters and it was very strange to me seeing how the families, including the small children, watched as their dogs got their surgeries done. My favorite part of the week was when we learned how to administer injections to cows, bulls and calves. That was honestly the easiest type of injection to administer, but I don’t want to explain in detail because I wouldn’t want to ruin the experience for others. Coming home is so different because it’s back to reality but I will continue to share my experiences and remember all of the people and adventures I had. Hopefully I’ll see Belize again someday!
