Hi everyone,
It has been over a month since my Belize trip has ended and I feel so happy that I was part of such a great experience. I met people that I still talk to now and I will probably see during the school year which was awesome. But more importantly, I have learned so many new things and I can say that I have been abroad doing what I love.
Even now that I am back, I still cannot believe I went! My friends still ask about the trip and I show them pictures and I am in just as much shock as they are. Now that I am back to my normal schedule I wish I was back! I have had time to reflect on my favorite parts of the trip were and I can say that it was mostly the fact that mostly everything I was doing could not have been done back home and the people and animals of Belize were special in their own way and I got to see how.
I will never forget the first night in Belize and how I was freaking out that I was even in a different country. I didnt know what was to come and how I was going to handle all the anxiousness/excitement but I did. Belize culture was different and refreshing. At the end of the two weeks, I knew that the impact this trip on my way of thinking would be great.
I hope most students figure out a way to study abroad. I know its not cheap but if you could figure out ways to save and try applying for scholarships (I know how desperate I was) it will change your perspective on things.
Thank you CELA and Rutgers!
