On our last day, our trip went full circle by visiting Ayutthaya. This was the capital before Bangkok. Ayutthaya was burned down in the 18th century by the Burmese. The Grand Palace that we visited on our first day was a replica of what was burnt down in Ayutthaya. Walking through Ayutthaya was hard. It is an eerie feeling walking through a historical place of that was attacked. The structures were nonetheless beautiful. It was hard to compare to The Grand Palace though, since it looked so incredibly different.
Before I left Thailand I went to a local market to buy souvenirs and got a watermelon smoothie in a watermelon shell. Departing such an incredible country was hard, but I plan to return again.
I would like to thank everyone who helped me go on this trip and those who watched over me while I was there. Thank you Professor Robson, Nat, Pimsuda, Jia, Jiew, Megan Francis, Taylor Paige, Gregory Spear, and the rest of the CCS staff. Studying in Thailand was an experience I will never forget. Thank you!
