On the flight home I began to really look through all the pictures and videos that I took during our trip and at that moment it truly sunk in that we were going home. All I kept thinking about was that it was my first time in Europe and we were already leaving, but then my attitude became positive again, as I realized I had just lived out a personal dream; travelling while studying agriculture. It was a surreal moment as I started to remember the various agricultural practices we were able to view behind the scenes, such as traditional farms, an organic dairy farm, and a greenhouse that utilized aquaponics for plant nutrients and so much more.
The last part I mention I would say without a doubt had the most significant impact on me. Anyone can travel by themselves and witness a multitude of wonderful sites, while studying their preferred interests, but it was the exclusive access that we were provided that truly set this trip apart from the ordinary.
In conclusion, I would like to thank the SEBS department, our professor, volunteers and the study abroad staff for making all of this possible. I had a great time and if I were to leave any advice for students considering study abroad I would say absolutely go for it because the experiences you will gain from studying abroad will go way beyond just something to add on to a resume. Thanks again and happy travels.
