This past three weeks may be some of the most substantial days in my life. I woke up at 6 in the morning, ate three meals a day, and worked all day. To be honest, I felt extremely uncomfortable when I first went to the island because of its moist and hot weather, and the big amount of time that I have to be exposed in the sunlight. Also, the bugs there were driving me crazy—about 30 new bugs each day was quite a number!
However, although struggled so much, Little Cayman was one of the most beautiful places I have ever been to and all those struggles were nothing compare to what I have gained. The island represents the few pure, natural, and free places that are left on earth, and it is those places that make me feel it is worthy to dedicate my life for.
Our project went really well, and hope we could really do something to help the thrive of staghorn coral. For my friends, I don’t think I’m ready to say goodbye after we have become a family from strangers. We worked together, lived together, and laughed together, and this friendship will last forever.
This three weeks are truly a precious memory I will cherish.
