This is my final week of work! During this week I am working on just obtaining data from my perfusion system and hopefully getting enough data to reach a conclusion. I have made some significant changes in the way the perfusion system is run such as changing the chamber from a closed perfusion to an open one, in order to increase the amount of volume of the chamber so that there is less stress on the cells by heating and changing of medium. I hope that today I will be able to get my first successful imaging of cells activating notch using the system. Tomorrow I am giving a presentation to all the members of the lab. I am slightly nervous but confident in my understanding of the material and ability to give a talk. This will also be good practice as I have another presentation for the International program on Wednesday. Wednesday night I have a final meeting with the PI of my lab and that will be my last day! It feels surreal how quickly this time has past and how much I have learned in the past 2 months.
Attached are pictures of the perfusion system inside of the microscope.
