We highly recommend our new 2+2 students to live on campus for at least one year in order to become familiar with the campus and the surroundings. Once you get a better feel for the area, you will be more knowledgeable about finding a suitable place for you to live.
Please be advised that not all on-campus residence options are open during the school breaks such as Thanksgiving, Winter, and Spring breaks. If you are not interested in this option, you will want to look for buildings that have nine-month contracts. For more information, visit the Residence Life website.
If you choose to live on campus, you are required to minimally have a 120 Meal Plan. You will find a 210 Meal Plan added to your account when you first arrive at Rutgers. Once your transcripts are received and evaluated at Rutgers, you will be able to reduce your meal plan. If you wish to reduce your meal plan, please contact the SEBS Office of International Programs no later than the second week of September for assistance. You can find more information on meal plans on the Dining Services website.
