There might be occasion for students to seek off campus assistance such as dental, vision, or specialty services as these are not provided by Rutgers Student Health. If this occasion occurs, students should bring their insurance cards and expect some out-of-pocket expenses, such as a co-pay, co-insurance, or non-covered expenses. We strongly recommend students to find in-network providers since students will typically pay less with in-network providers. Students can find in-network providers on the insurance website, Zocdoc*, or by calling the doctor’s office. When scheduling an appointment, students should be ready to provide their insurance information, such as the insurance company and member ID, which can be found on their insurance card.
*Zocdoc provides an online medical care appointment booking service for free of charge. You can find nearby doctors in your network, check doctor reviews, and schedule an appointment online.
