Rutgers students can get counseling services at CAPS (Counseling, Alcohol and Other Drug Assistance Program & Psychiatric Services). CAPS develops an individualized action plan for each student based on your unique needs. Services include crisis intervention, individual therapy, group therapy, a variety of workshops, alcohol and other drug assistance programs, and psychiatric care (medication management). To make an appointment or to get more information, visit the CAPS website.
Let’s Talk
If you are not interested in on-going counseling or have a specific problem and would like to talk it through, you can drop in during “Let’s Talk” hours. Students can have informal and confidential consultations with CAPS counselors during the drop-in hours at a number of locations across campus, including SEBS. Students do not need to make an appointment and do not need to be affiliated with one of the locations offering the service. For Chinese students, Rutgers Global-ISSS hosts a Let’s Talk session with a counselor who is fluent in Mandarin Chinese. Find specific time and locations at the Rutgers Community-Based Counseling webpage.
